Muse of Turiya
Cheri's current project, Muse of Turiya, (myspace.com/museofturiya) performs in the Boulder area regularly.
Muse of Turiya specializes in performing for special events, festivals, holidays, and spiritual retreats, and is committed to making each show an immersive and inclusive experience for the listeners. The Turiya sound ranges from ambient, trancendental soundscapes to driving, booty-shakin grooves. A Turiya show has both a mystical and sensual flavor, with ancient and modern sensibilities. Turiya is genre-defying collective, infused with many different musical styles, including ones that have yet to be heard. Muse of Turiya is the musical expression of pure consciousness channeled thru the human instruments of Cheri Shanti as the lyricist, vocalist and percussionist, Seva Scott Bears on Oud, and strings, Jason Digges on Bass, and Jessee Layton on drums.
